Nexus Planning, supported by building consultancy Black Cat, has secured planning permission for Sandon Global’s new headquarters at the Manor Park Industrial Estate in Runcorn.

The company manufactures and refurbishes rollers, sleeves and cylinders for the print industry and currently employs a team of 56 at its current site, also in Manor Park.

Halton Council’s development control committee voted unanimously to approve the plans for the replacement 43,200 sq ft advanced manufacturing facility. The scheme has been put together by Black Cat, which will continue to project manage through to completion. The approval will retain a key and specialised employer in the advanced engineering sector within the borough.

Rosanna Cohen, senior planner at Nexus Planning, said: “This is a pioneering company that is now able to grow to provide 20 additional skilled jobs in the next five years and continue to explore its regional and global markets.

“Our collaborative approach with officers at Halton Borough Council has been integral in securing significant economic benefits to the local community.”

James Dyson, director at Black Cat, added: “Sandon Global are at the forefront of their industry. They require a clean, environmentally controlled manufacturing facility comparable to some of the laboratory facilities we have been involved in.

“The design and construction of this HQ facility will reflect the principles of advanced technology, high spec and high quality, which Sandon’s continued growth is based upon. We are delighted to be involved from conception through to completion of this impressive HQ facility.”
