Langdale Chase

Building Surveys

Langdale Chase is a renowned, iconic Grade II listed country house hotel originally built in 1895. Consisting of six buildings and situated within a six acre site, the original house was extended in the early 1930’s when it was converted into a hotel.

Key to the client’s requirements was establishing the condition of the main elements of structure, so having a proven track record and knowledge of traditional construction techniques was vital. The relatively inaccessible and complex roof structure to the main house was identified early on as being an essential part of the inspection. Special access equipment not normally considered by the client was utilised and proved to be invaluable, enabling us to provide the level of comfort required by the client to proceed with the purchase.

A tight timescale in which to complete the survey and report was also paramount and a challenge which Black Cat met.
